Coralesce is pleased to announce the Careers Colleges Trust has been awarded the contract from the Education & Training Foundation to develop 4 Digital Skills CPD courses to build on the resources created through the ETF Learning Futures Project. The Careers College’s Trust will be working in partnership with Coralesce ltd, Ideas4learning and Barking & Dagenham College to develop this provision. The project will develop 4 online courses which will be available from January/February 2017. The courses will cover Video Learning; Social Media in Teaching & Learning; Online Assessment and Effective Use of Online Meeting & Webinar Technologies. These courses are pitched at 5 GLH and could be taken individually or altogether. The courses will be 100% online on the Foundation’s VLE but would include synchronous online meetings/webinars. In addition, Barking & Dagenham College will be producing some videos giving a student perspective on what they expect in these development areas. The Project will also develop Train the Trainer Packs to support a cascade model of delivery. The Foundation will be charging a small fee for enrolment on each of these courses once they go live. To encourage group enrolment to the Digital Skills CPD short courses the Careers Colleges Trust will be offering a free institutional analysis of the digital skills of staff using the software developed by Coralesce www.edtech-assess.com This will provide a comprehensive training needs analysis to inform digital skills CPD within each institution. In addition to a free TNA (for group enrolment) successful learners would have direct progression to the nationally accredited NCFE Level 4 Technology Enabled Educator award run by the Careers Colleges Trust.
Christina Conroy, Project Manager said “This is a great opportunity to create some practical ‘how-to’ Digital Skills CPD for mainstream teachers, trainers and instructors in the learning and skills sector. To get the ball rolling the Project Team’s starting point will be consultation with the sector to share our plan for the CPD development and collect user views about our content and delivery proposals.”
